About

One sum, done clearly.

Just the Carbs is an Android app, and this website, for working out the carbohydrate grams in the portion you are about to eat.

What it is

The app is made by Albino Gorilla Software. You find a food by scanning its barcode, searching by name or brand, or scanning its nutrition label. You enter how much you're having, and it shows the carbs for that portion. There is no account to create and no advertising.

It uses one formula: carbs per 100, times your portion, divided by 100. Thefree web calculator uses the same sum and shows each step.

What it leaves out

It doesn't count calories, keep a food diary or store a history of your meals. It doesn't calculate insulin doses and doesn't replace advice from a healthcare professional.

Where the food data comes from

Product information comes from Open Food Facts where it is available, used under the Open Database License. Values can be missing or out of date, so the app lets you check a value against the packaging and correct it. The guides on this site list their sources at the end of each article.

Your data

Your saved products, portions and dishes stay on your phone. The privacy policylists exactly what is sent to Open Food Facts and when.
